The Fisherman and His Wife

This is my new artwork, The Fisherman and His Wife from the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. The story tells of a fisherman who freed a fish that was a prince under an enchantment. The fish promised to grant him any wish. The fisherman was content and desired nothing, but his wife grew greedier by the day and kept making endless demands. Her ambition expanded wildly, until she even sought power comparable to that of the sun and the moon. In the end, everything went back to the way it was. The tale reminds us never to let greed take hold of us.
